Is women's football "catching up" with men's football?

I went to see the Women's champions league final and quite a few things shocking differences from the men's game.Firstly the ticket price this was probably the most important game in women's European football but the tickets were on only sold for 10 pounds an adult and 5 pounds for a child, compared to the price of a men's champions league final ticket from 60 pounds to 330 according to the quality of the seats, and the ones of the women's final were excellent !(due to the very few number of people)
But on the other side to be fair men's football is just better than men's football for the moment in Europe.
This is due to a number of facts:

  • Women's football is not as praised in Europe as it is in America
  • Girls are not as physical as men and this can not be replaced with skill as at the moment the only place were they really focus on the skills is Brazil.
  • Not many people go to women's football matches in Europe so the wages of players at the top levels are very low compared to the ones in men's football.

Newcastle's shocking season

I think that the disaster of this club this season is due to one simple thing : they sold their top player!
Demba Ba was sold in the January transfer to Chelsea if you sell you're best player in the middle of the season it is very hard to build the team without their leading goal scorer and best player.
And of course none of the players stepped up to take the leading attacker role, you could of expected that from Cisse or Ben Arfa. But that was not the case so they lost and lost and narrowly escaped relegation. It is not just for  Newcastle if you take any team and take out there best player it is very hard to recover because you have built you're hole team and way of playing around him  like Barcelona , Real Madrid or Napoli

Is football changing?

Due to the ever increasing popularity of football this is changing because in my opinion football has greatly changed because of the money coming in and the increase of football wages, the money coming in from advertising and  television contracts.
The times when a club could become successful from scratch are over nowadays for a football team it basically  has to be bought by a rich owner that has nothing more to do with his money. A great example is QPR that have recently been relegated from the Barclays  premier league their top flight dream started when they got promoted 2 years ago. They had a good squad but in the premier league to succeed you must have a considerable budget. This meant that they were in the top flight but not a lot of players were willing to go to a club because they could easily get more money and fame at other clubs like Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United , Arsenal or Chelsea.

Thus  I believe this beautiful game is changing forever to a more money based game.
